As a child growing up in one of the toughest neighborhoods, 5th Ward, there are not many positive role models to provide the proper guidance. I was blessed to have two of the best mentors that life could offer, my parents, Charles and Clara Randolph.
Our home was run with an iron fist where rules and regulations prevailed. “Spare the rod and spoil the child” was prevalent in our home, but love was abundant. Having the degree of love we had in our home was so important because my mom died when I was 13, and I was raised by my father and four sisters. This impacted me a great deal, but we knew it was important to conduct ourselves in the manner which was established by my mom. |
